ابتدائی زندگی اور تاریخی پس منظر
بابا گرو نانک جی کی پیدائش 15 اپریل 1469ء کو ضلع شیخوپورہ (موجودہ پنجاب، پاکستان) کے قصبے رائے بھوئی کی تلونڈی (जो اب ننکانہ صاحب کہلاتا ہے) میں ہوئی۔ آپ کے والد کا نام مہتا کلو جی اور والدہ کا نام ماتا ترپتا جی تھا۔ بچپن ہی سے آپ کا رجحان دنیاوی کاموں کی بجائے روحانیات، غور و فکر اور غریبوں کی مدد کی طرف تھا۔
روحانی بیداری اور پیغام
آپ کی زندگی کا اہم موڑ وہ واقعہ تھا جب آپ دریائے بین میں غائب ہو گئے اور تین دن بعد ظاہر ہوئے، جہاں آپ کو الہامی مشن ملا۔ آپ نے بنیادی پیغام دیا:
- ایک اوکار: خدا ایک ہے اور وہی کائنات کا خالق ہے۔
- کرتار کی یاد (نام جپنا): ہمیشہ رب کا ذکر دل میں رکھیں۔
- حق کی کمائی (کی کت کرنا): ایمانداری سے محنت کر کے روزی کمائیں۔
- بند بانٹ کر کھانا (وند چھکਣਾ): اپنی کمائی سے ضرورت مندوں کی مدد کرنا۔
تاریخی سفر (سیدھز)
بابا گرو نانک جی نے اپنے پیغام کو پھیلانے کے لیے طویل پیدل سفر کیے، جنہیں "سیدھز" کہا جاتا ہے۔ ان سفرهای کے دوران آپ نے مکہ معظمہ، مدینہ منورہ، بغداد، تبت اور برصغیر کے مختلف حصوں کا دورہ کیا۔ آپ نے تمام مذاہب کے لوگوں سے مکالمہ کیا اور انسانیت، اخلاقیات اور مساوات کا درس دیا۔
کرتارپور صاحب کا قیام اور آخری ایام
اپنی زندگی کے آخری ایام میں آپ نے دریائے راوی کے کنارے کرتارپور کی بنیاد رکھی (جو موجودہ ضلع نارووال، پاکستان میں واقع ہے۔ یہاں آپ نے کسان کی حیثیت سے زندگی گزاری اور لنگر کی روایت کی بنیاد رکھی، جہاں ذات پات کی تفریق کے بغیر سب ایک ساتھ بیٹھ کر کھانا کھاتے ہیں۔ بابا گرو نانک جی 22 ستمبر 1539ء کو یہیں جوت جوت سمائے۔
Early Life and Historical Background
Baba Guru Nanak Ji was born on April 15, 1469, in Rai Bhoi di Talwandi (present-day Nankana Sahib, Punjab, Pakistan). His father was Mehta Kalu Ji, and his mother was Mata Tripta Ji. From a very young age, he showed a keen inclination toward spirituality, deep contemplation, and helping the needy rather than mundane pursuits.
Spiritual Awakening and Core Message
A major turning point in his life occurred when he disappeared into the Bain River and reappeared after three days with a divine revelation. He gave the core message of:
- Ik Onkar: God is One and the sole creator of the universe.
- Naam Japna: Keeping the remembrance of God alive in one's heart.
- Kirat Karo: Earning an honest living through hard work.
- Vand Chhako: Sharing one's earnings with the needy and less fortunate.
Historical Journeys (Udasis)
To spread his universal message, Baba Guru Nanak Ji undertook extensive travels known as "Udasis". During these journeys, he visited Makkah, Madinah, Baghdad, Tibet, and various regions across the Indian subcontinent. He engaged with people of diverse faiths, preaching humanity, morality, and equality.
Establishment of Kartarpur and Final Days
In the later years of his life, he settled on the banks of the Ravi River and founded Kartarpur (located in the Narowal district of Pakistan). Here, he lived as a farmer and laid the foundation of the community kitchen (Langar), where people of all backgrounds sat together to share a meal without any discrimination of caste or creed. Baba Guru Nanak Ji passed away on September 22, 1539, in Kartarpur.
